PINE BLUFFS, Wyo. -- Older adults in eastern Wyoming will have the chance to sharpen their digital skills this summer through a series of free technology classes at the Pine Bluffs Senior Center.
The program aims to help seniors navigate smartphones, tablets, and computers with confidence. Classes will cover basic topics like sending emails, using video calling apps, managing photos, and staying safe online. Organizers say the goal is to reduce the digital divide and help older residents stay connected with family and community resources.
The sessions are open to all older adults in the area, not just Pine Bluffs residents. No prior experience with technology is required, and instructors will provide hands-on guidance in a relaxed setting. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices, though some equipment will be available for those who need it.
The summer schedule includes weekly classes running through August. Each session lasts about two hours. Interested individuals can sign up by calling the senior center directly. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
Local officials have praised the initiative, noting that digital literacy is becoming increasingly important for accessing healthcare, banking, and social services. The program is funded through a grant aimed at supporting aging populations in rural communities.
